Attach a dollar value to your time. Then find out your production costs. Amortizing mold costs is the hardest part since it is subjective.

What stays in the cup was still bought and paid for. Measure the mixed volume, not the poured volume.

Treating molds as a one-off purchase

A mold has a working life measured in pours. Spread its cost across that life and every piece carries its fair share, instead of the first piece absorbing all of it and the rest pretending it was free.

Charging for cure time

Seventy-two hours of curing is not seventy-two hours of labor — you were doing something else. Charge for mixing, pouring, demolding and finishing. Long cure times justify a higher markup because they tie up your molds and your space, which is a different argument.

Ignoring the pours that fail

Bubbles, cloudiness, incomplete cures. Whatever your failure rate actually is, the pieces that survive have to carry it — and the markup is where that belongs, not the materials line.

Questions

Shouldn't I just multiply my material cost by three?
Sometimes that lands in the same place, and when it does it is a fine shortcut. It breaks in two directions. On a small fast item where your time dwarfs the materials, a multiplier underpays you badly. On an expensive-material piece that was quick to make, it overcharges for the material and undercharges for the skill. The multiplier is really a guess at labour plus overhead plus profit rolled into one number — so put your real hours in here, see what price comes out, and then check what multiple of your materials that turns out to be. If the two agree, use whichever you prefer. If they disagree, the arithmetic is the one telling the truth.
How do I price a piece with a failure rate?
Raise the markup rather than inflating the material cost. Materials should stay honest so you can see what a piece truly consumes; the markup is the right place for risk, and keeping them separate means you can tell when your process improves.
What about gloves, cups and stir sticks?
They are cheap individually and add up quickly. Buy them by the box, put the box cost in, and say how many pours a box covers — the calculator divides it down for you.
Should larger pieces cost proportionally more?
Materials scale roughly with volume, but labor does not scale as fast and risk scales faster. Price a large piece here properly rather than multiplying a small piece's price, or you will underprice the ones most likely to fail.
